Dr. Hurriyah is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Political Science, Universitas Indonesia, as well as Director of the Center for Political Studies (Puskapol UI) and Chair of the Indonesian Scholar Network for Freedom of Religion or Belief (ISFoRB). Her research focuses on politics and religion, freedom of religion, minority groups, political inclusion, as well as democracy and electoral politics. With over two decades of experience as an academic, researcher, and consultant, she actively leads national and international research projects, publishes books and scholarly articles, and speaks at various global forums. Currently, she is also a Research Fellow at the Asia Research Center UI and Tumbuh Institute. In 2024–2025, she was also a Visiting Scholar at the Center for the Study of Asia, Boston University through the Fulbright program.
