Dra. Chusnul Mar’iyah, Ph.D. is an academic and political expert specializing in urban politics, comparative politics, women and politics, as well as political parties and elections. She earned her doctorate from the University of Sydney in 1998 with a dissertation titled Urban Political Conflict in Australia: The Redevelopment of Inner Sydney. She has been teaching at the Department of Political Science, FISIP UI since 1982. Additionally, she also teaches at Universitas Muhammadiyah Jakarta and handles various courses, including gender politics and comparative politics. Aside from being active in the academic world, Chusnul is also known as an activist involved in various women’s and civil society organizations. She served as a Member of the General Election Commission of the Republic of Indonesia (2001–2007) and currently leads the Center for Electoral Reform (CEPP) at Universitas Indonesia. Furthermore, Chusnul also develops the YouTube channel IC THE REAL SHOW with Ichsanuddin Noorsy, where both discuss contemporary political-economic issues.
